Newport Beach runs for sharks

The Run4Sharks and Ocean Health Fair 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is set to take place in Newport Beach this October.

This event will serve as a fundraiser for Shark Stewards, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to shark protection and the conservation of ocean ecosystems. It is also designed to promote fitness and raise awareness about ocean conservation.

Teams of five or more will receive a discount of $5 per person. The cost to be a part of the 5K run will be $43.40, and $32.80 for the 1-mile children’s run or virtual run. Participants and attendees of the event will also have the opportunity to explore various booths featuring information on ocean health, shark conservation, and fitness.

Registration for the 5K and 1-mile children's run will end on October 11, and the following day for the virtual run. For more information and to register, individuals can visit the Run4Sharks listing or call 951-495-6520.

Current sponsors and donation partners of the event include The Spicy Shark, KPC Health, Beach Cities, Coach’s Oats, Orgain, Earshield, Stream 2 Sea, and Patagonia Provisions. Banner printing can be useful in marking the start line at events such as this one.

The in-person event will be hosted at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach on Saturday, October 12. The 5K begins at 9:00 am with the kids’ run starting 15 minutes later.
