The National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program (NQMBC) recently designated the Hoag Breast Center as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence. It has locations in Irvine and Newport Beach.
The center is Orange County’s first to receive this designation, and its only one to date. It is also the fifth consecutive year in which the center has been duly recognized.
The Executive Medical Director of Hoag Women’s Health Institute, Allyson Brooks, commented that this recognition as a Center of Excellence was a proud achievement, adding that it reaffirms the Center’s position as a national leader in the treatment of breast cancer, and its commitment to proving its patients with the highest quality breast care.
A breast center’s performance on select indicators such as patient satisfaction, mammography call back rate, timeliness of care for screening and diagnostic mammography, and surgical care are among the factors the NQMBC uses to determine the recipients of the award.
Among the distinctive services provided by the Hoag Breast Center are breast tomosynthesis, more commonly known as 3D mammography, and oncosplatic surgery, which is a technique used to conserve breast tissue. It also has a dedicated breast MRI unit.
Flyer printing companies could be used to publicize special services and disseminate more information about such distinctions as this one from the NQMBC.
