Malcolm Welford and Miles Morris recently opened a 15,000-square-foot classic car showroom.
Both started dealing with the vintage and race car industry in the United Kingdom. Their partnership with JD Classics, a vintage car maintenance and restoration company based in the United Kingdom, has enabled them to open this Newport Beach showroom, where they will buy and sell cars and take in vehicles on consignment.
The showroom is located on what was formerly a dealership for Rolls-Royce. Currently featured on display are a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 priced at $1.9m, a 1920 Stutz Bearcat Model H priced at $635,000, and a 1948 Maserati A6/1500 selling for $995,000, among others.
There are some classic cars that are more affordable such as a 1959 Rambler Ambassador Wagon, which was popular in Newport Beach at the time for $55,000 and a 1971 Fiat 500 for $25,000.
Both Morris and Welford have been in the vintage car industry for the past 10 years and have brokered close to $650m worth of classic cars in that time.
Welford believes that this showroom is the only one of its kind in California. He added that even though each car could be part of a museum, these cars are really meant to be on the road.
