Taco Bell recently opened a restaurant in Newport Beach that also serves alcoholic beverages.
The boozy offerings at the new standalone location include slushy drinks called Twisted Freezes. Also being served is Taco Bell’s own beer that was developed from a collaboration with Four Sons Brewing in Huntington Beach. This Mexican-style amber lager has a unique flavor so as to complement the flavors and foods served at the eatery. The beer is light red in color and will be offered for as long as supplies last.
The chain is looking to change the look of its restaurants as it expands, so each new cantina it opens in an urban area will reflect the culture of the community and have its own furniture, food, and décor. This Taco Bell serves the standard company menu, as well as six shareable plates offered in a range of prices.
The Newport Beach location is close to the beach and has a bar made of partially recycled wood, with 14 seats from which guests can view the activities of the beach. The interior and exterior walls have murals in pastel colors painted by local artist Joe Frizzelle.
