Volunteers are important to the operation of any hospital, and now a conference discussing matters of importance to volunteer leaders has been scheduled.
The 2020 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. The title of this year's conference is “Engineering Change. Inspiring Leadership,” and it features discussions, exhibits, and informative sessions.
The intended audience for the conference is community partners, volunteers, volunteer leaders, paid staff members who are in charge of volunteer programs, and peers who wish to use these programs to expand the services they offer. Among the subjects that will be discussed are workforce, youth programs, volunteer management, retail, and emergency services.
One of the scheduled sessions is “Change: The Human Factors,” presented by author Jeanne Sexson. She will discuss the impact of change on productivity, why people resist change, how change can be introduced effectively, and how to overcome resistance to change.
A second session will feature Phillip Moller of Dignity Health Connected Living, who will discuss ways in which volunteers can help prepare seniors for emergencies and disasters. He will focus on educating seniors about alerts, what a “go bag” is and how to prepare one, and designing an emergency plan. Other sessions will be added.
The conference is scheduled for February 17, 18, and 19. Print shops can help create extensive materials for events like this.
