Dinner for a cause in Newport Beach

An upcoming event in Newport Beach will raise funds for an important cause.

The JDRF Southern California One Night Gala will bring together members of the T1D community in Orange County to support the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Since its creation in 1970, the Foundation has given over $2.5 billion to research efforts into type 1 diabetes. The gala is in honor of the Skjonsby Family and their ongoing support of those with the condition.

The Foundation works daily to help change the lives of the millions with diabetes, and to prevent others from developing the condition. To meet these goals, the Foundation funds research, advocates the government to support new therapies and research, makes sure new therapies and treatments are brought to the market and, perhaps most importantly, recommended and supported by healthcare providers. JDRF also builds a community by educating, engaging, and connecting with those with diabetes.

This research has two main objectives: to cure the disease, and to improve the lives of the people who already have the condition. The cure depends on finding ways to restore the ability of the body to produce insulin, thus stopping diabetes before it starts. Improving people’s lives depends on keeping them healthy until a cure is found.

The One Night Gala is March 9 at 5.30 pm, at the Pendry Newport Beach, a beautiful hotel. Events like this provide an opportunity for like-minded attendees to network and exchange Business Cards.
