The directors’ board replaced Horner with Brittney Sherman who will start serving as the new CEO and president immediately. Sherman has played an active role in the board since 2015, following her appointment as a member that year. In 2017, she was hired as the Chamber’s Member and Community Engagement Director. She also held a role as the Chief Operating Officer for the chamber.
When Horner first took the job as president it was agreed that he was going to serve for three years at least. He went on to state:
“Obviously I served much longer than that. Our plan had always been to develop a successor who would be ready, willing and able to assume the role. I’m delighted and proud that Brittney has fully fulfilled that intention.”
Horner’s replacement, Sherman, is a native to San Jose. After receiving a San Jose State University degree, she started her working career in the hospitality industry. She worked in several locations across the county before relocating to Morgan Hill in 2015. The places that she has worked in include the Marriott Hotel and Leal Vineyards. Executives tend to order business card printing when they take on new roles.
Horner will continue to be a member of the board, which has 18 directors.
