A two-hour compost basics workshop is set to occur in Morgan Hill this fall.
This workshop was created by the University of California and Agricultural and Natural Resources (UC ANR) as part of the efforts of UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) academics. UC ANR enables individuals throughout the entire state of California to access educational UC resources, even if they do not attend any UC campus.
This informative two-hour event will introduce participants to the basics of composting and how the practice can help the environment. Topics the workshop will cover include how the composting process works, how anyone can use composting to dispose of organic waste such as grass trimmings and scraps of food, how composting breaks natural materials down into nutrient-rich soil, and ways individuals can use this soil in their gardens and yards.
The UCCE Santa Clara County composting education program will take place as an online Zoom meeting. Morgan Hill residents who sign up for the event online will receive a private link for participation. Individuals who take part in educational online workshops often use the services of Print shops to create physical Copies of helpful event-related references.
The compost basics workshop is scheduled to take place at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
