Next month, the annual Bay Area Epic ride for cyclists is set to return to Morgan Hill.
Three divisions are included in the Bay Area Epic for cyclists of varying levels of athleticism. The Mini Epic is 50 miles and involves 65% gravel roads. The Big Epic is 73 miles long and includes 75% of gravel roads, and the Grand Epic is the longest race at 131 miles and 45% of the course is gravel.
Registration to participate in one of the races is available online for cyclists at no cost, either as a guest or on their BikeReg website accounts. Anyone who is signing up for a division can choose to donate specific amounts of money to the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Peninsula Open Space Trust, including $25, $35, $45, or $55.
To record their times and distances travelled, each Morgan Hill participant must track their progress on Ride with GPS or Strava then email to the event organizers along with selfies at their course locations, as well as a written report that summarizes their riding experience. The organizers of similar events often utilize flyer printing to ensure all participants are aware of essential event rules and details.
The 2021 Bay Area Epic can take place on any day in the month of May according to each individual participant’s schedule. In June, the winners of the Epic will be revealed.
