Paws With Patriots is a popular fundraiser that helps to support the non-profit group, Operation Freedom Paws, and is now less than a month away.
Operation Freedom Paws is a unique charitable group that works with vets to teach them how to train their own service dog. Once the training is complete, the pair receives certification as a service dog team.
Most of the animals used for the program are rescued shelter dogs and the training program teaches them how to help with a variety of common veteran-related needs. Some of the skills they learn include helping someone with a traumatic brain injury, managing post-traumatic stress, and assisting an owner with mobility challenges. No participant in the program receives a bill for any of the training they receive.
The wine gala will include dinner, wine, and live music. This year, a classic rock band from the Morgan Hill area will be the entertainment for the evening. Tickets to this event are a generous corporate gift but register early because the organizers expect it to sell out.
The event takes place at the Operation Freedom Paws Canine Education Center located at 13920 Llagas Avenue in San Martin. It will take place on August 11 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with tickets available at the Eventbrite website. Veterans and sponsored veteran tickets are $60 each, individual tickets are $75 per person, and a VIP table is $980.
