The public is now able to send in its comments in regard to an impact study carried out for a commercial, medical, and residential project to be constructed in Morgan Hill.
The project is called the Lillian Commons Medical Campus. It will be situated on a 17.69-acre plot off Barret Avenue. The project will feature an urgent care center, a medical building, a hospital with space for 55 beds, 500 parking spaces spread out over three stories, a commercial and retail center, and residential housing for families. Brochure printing is a convenient way of advertising such a project.
An initial study was prepared by city officials to assess the environmental impact of this project. The project is being coordinated by a Mountain View-based firm known as Lillian Commons LLC.
The environmental assessment claims that the project will not cause a significant impact on the environment, adding that any elements of construction that could cause environmental harm have been accounted for and sufficient measures have been taken to mitigate their effect. The full report is 178 pages long and gives more detail about the project’s environmental impact.
The site is currently a vacant plot. Residential neighborhoods are located on its boundaries to the west and north.
The public has until 30th July to comment on the study and give feedback, then the Morgan Hill Planning Commission will review the report and the project at a meeting scheduled for 25th August.
