Plant sale planned for Burbank green thumbs

Burbank gardeners who are itching to get their summer planting started may want to include a local event in their plans for this month.

Thomas Payne Foundation has made arrangements to host its Poppy Days Spring Sale, but this year, it will look a little different. Both members and the general public are welcome to book an individual timeslot to do their shopping, and they can browse through the plants, tools, clothing and other hard goods on offer.

Everyone who plans on attending has been asked to reserve their time, and each will be for one vehicle with up to four passengers. The gardens and trails will be open.

During the event, masks will be required, and the shoppers are asked to observe social distancing protocols. Staff will not be able to aid the customers with loading their purchase into their vehicle, and anyone who feels unwell is asked to stay at home.

The organizers of the activity hope to draw a large number of members of the public. Print shops can be counted on to prepare signage and other materials that will aid in keeping it well organized.

This Year's Poppy Days Sale is now accepting bookings, and it will run from March 25 to 27. The venue for the function can be found at 10459 Tuxford Street in Los Angeles.
