Native plant garden tour to wind through LA County

Two days have been set aside in April that will allow the public to gain special access to local properties, and the hope is that they will be inspired to create their own native plant garden.

Choosing native plants for the residential, commercial and industrial landscape offers many advantages, especially in a climate like the one enjoyed in Burbank. This self-guided event will include a wide assortment of home landscapes that will be open to visitors for the two days of the Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden Tour. It will be an interactive experience, and the properties will be divided into two groups with some being open on the Saturday, and others opening their gates to visitors on the Sunday.

At each of the stops on the tour, the participants will be greeted and have a chance to chat with the garden’s creators. Docents will also be on hand to answer questions, providing an opportunity to both learn and meet other aspiring green thumbs. Maps, garden guides, and information for the people who register can be prepared for this type of occasion by a local printing services company.

The 16th annual Theodore Payne Native Plant Tour has been scheduled for this April, and it will be held on April 6 and 7. It will include stops at various gardens throughout Los Angeles County.
