The Parks and Recreation Department in the city of Burbank has created a schedule of summer camps for the upcoming season, and several sessions have been planned that will invite kids to get some practice in the kitchen.
The participants in the Cooking Round the World day camps will be exploring the globe through food, and each camper will get hands-on culinary experience. They are intended for kids from age six to twelve, and the registration fee for each child starts at $160, depending on the start date selected.
Every camper in this program will have a chance to dice, chop, sauté, and blend, and they will gain experience using a variety of kitchen tools such as melon ballers and citrus zesters. They will learn how food can be healthy without compromising taste, and will also be able to find a practical application for math when they measure out ingredients.
This sort of activity can be as fun as it is educational, and Print shops will be able to help. One of the products they can prepare is personalized cookbooks, and Corporate Gifts like this make it easy for the campers to keep on cooking even after the session is over.
There are a variety of start dates for the Cooking Round the World summer camps, with more information about this available on the Burbank Parks website. They will all take place in the Robert R. Ovrom Community Center.
