Burbank to make a splash with April Pools Day

Spending time in or on the water can be a lot of fun, but doing so safely is a serious subject, and residents of Burbank are invited to take part in an activity that will help them to learn more about being safe at the pool or seaside.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its second annual April Pool’s Day event. There will be a variety of demonstrations, including an opportunity to try on lifejackets and learn to wear them properly so they will provide the most benefit, and engage in a mock rescue using a surfboard. Along with all of this, there will also be recreational swims offered free of charge. Poster printing can be used to promote activities like this to the surrounding community so that as many know about it as possible.

All of this will be taking place at the Verduga Aquatic Facility on April 2 from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. It is located at 3201 West Verdugo Avenue. Along with the fun aquatic activities, the Snack Shack will be open for those who want a bite to eat while they spend time near the water. It will be serving cold drinks and other refreshments, as well as meal-sized snacks.

Anyone who would like to find out more about this event is invited to visit the Parks and Recreation Department’s website.
