For those born to run (especially in one-mile increments) and who love to compete, Fleet Feet is offering a 12-hour relay race in just a few days’ time.
The race will feature teams comprised of 10 runners each. Each team member runs a mile, and then passes the baton to the next person on the team. The team that runs the most miles in its division over the course of 12 hours will win the event. If a member is no longer able to run, the team may continue shorthanded.
There will be six divisions, three for high schools students and three for adults. Each group will have an all-male team, all-female team, and a mixed team (with a minimum of three females). The entry fee is $100 per team with the proceeds going to the Burbank Cross Country Team. Shirts will be available as long as supplies last, and the top three finishing teams in each division will receive medals for each of their team members.
The 12-hour relay will take place from 7:00 pm on August 1 to 7:00 am on August 2 at the Burbank High Track and Field, and is limited to 50 teams.
Since this type of event appeals most strongly to health-conscious individuals, focused advertising is likely to work best. Materials from a flyer printing service may have the most impact placed in a gym, health food store, or sports Apparel shop. Get a Free Quote for Apparel
