Burbank online workshop to introduce benefits of therapy

Burbank residents who are considering starting therapy may want to be in the audience for an upcoming information session.

The Burbank Public Library will be offering the public an opportunity to participate in a virtual session intended for those who feel counseling is the right step for them. Open to anybody who feels they may benefit from it, it will introduce and explore a variety of counseling types, with an emphasis on talk therapy.

Caroline Wiita and Ben Fineman, who are both psychotherapists, will guide the activity. They will discuss talk therapy and other counseling styles, and also offer tips for finding the most suitable therapist. Options for low-cost counseling will be introduced, and everyone will have an opportunity to ask any questions they have. What to do if a partnership with a therapist is not working out is on the agenda as well.

Due to Covid, many functions have been converted to an online format. Although these sessions may take place virtually, the participants may still benefit from the use of hard copy materials created for an activity by a local printing services company.

The So You’re Ready to Find a Therapist virtual workshop will begin at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15. Joining instructions and other helpful information can be found on its online listing.
