Disney fans in Burbank California recently celebrated the ‘Disney Fanniversary Celebration’ at the Walt Disney Studios.
The Official Disney Fan Club, D23, is touring the United States with the celebratory presentation, visiting Chicago, Boston, Newark, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Orlando, San Francisco, San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Seattle. The tour kicked off in Burbank on March 4 and every show is hosted by an archivist from Disney and a Team Member from D23.
During the 2013 tour, the focus is going to be on events like the launch of the Disney Channel and theme park celebrations, including Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and its 50th anniversary. The Disney adventure began in Burbank back in 1923 when the company was founded. Some of the images from the initial days of Walt Disney were displayed during the Burbank show, along with footage of rides which are located at other Disney parks. At Burbank, attendees had the opportunity to see a Gaucho doll which had been presented to Walt by members of the Argentinian press.
As well as some rarely seen Disney footage, also included in the show were Disney songs, some of the theme tunes including the that for Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers. The tour will no doubt benefit local printing companies who will be asked to provide poster printing services, so that the upcoming tour dates can be publicized and Disney fans in each of the locations get to hear about what is going on.
