Burbank event to help vets seeking civilian sector employment

Making the change to ‘Civvy Street’ is not always an easy one for veterans, but a Burbank event is hoping to make the transition go a lot more smoothly.

Taking place next month, it will include up to 50 employers, and has been planned by the City of Burbank with help from the state and a local jobs center.

Employers from a wide assortment of industries will be represented during the 8th annual City of Burbank Veterans Job Fair, which offers area vets an opportunity to discover the possibilities open to them in this second chapter of their working life. They are reminded to bring along a stack of professional quality Business Cards, as well as Copies of their résumé, and be ready to meet with lots of employers.

The doors of the job fair are scheduled to be open for jobseekers at 9:00 am, and those who are interested can stop by any time between then and 12:00 noon. Attendees are advised to dress to impress, and they may be able to meet with prospective employers face to face. There is no cost for veterans to attend the function, and the organizer can be reached at 818-238-5627.

The McCambridge Recreation Center is located at 1515 North Glenoaks Boulevard, and it will be hosting this employment fair on March 18. Attendance is free, but those interested should RSVP via the event listing.
