The Whittier Area chapter of the Audubon Society hosts a variety of activities for its members and non-members alike, and it has an outing on the agenda for this January.
The Brea area group has organized a field birding trip to Antelope Valley, and it will be led by Larry Schmahl. It will be an opportunity for beginners to get their feet wet and experts to hone their skills.
The planners of the excursion explained that the registrants can expect to see species such as mountain bluebirds, roadrunners, great horned owls, and maybe even an early sage thrasher. They may wish to bring along a lunch, and binoculars are highly recommended. Everyone is advised to come dressed for the weather. The participants have been asked to meet up in the parking lot at the Community Center, and carpool together to Lancaster after first making a pit stop at Carl's Junior on Avenue K.
Birding is a hobby that encourages people to spend time in nature, enjoying the fresh air. Offering them Journals will help them to record the species they see and other observations, and these will be available at a company that prepares Corporate Gifts.
This visit to Antelope Valley Field Trip will be taking place on January 9th. The registrants will gather at the Community Center parking lot at 6:00 am to get organized before they head out.
