Warringtons festive charity run opens applications
Entries are now being accepted for the popular charity event Brainwave Santa Dash, which will be taking place in Warrington this December.
Organisers are confident that the contest will continue to draw in the entries as it returns for a fifth year following success in previous years. This winter’s event will be taking place with the aim to raise money for the town’s Brainwave Centre.
Brainwave is a charity that helps families throughout the North West who have children with special needs and various disabilities.
The event is usually taken in a fun and light-hearted manner over the festive period, with each entrant dressing up in a Santa costume before running, or walking, the multi-terrain 5km course through Birchwood Forest. It attracts strong numbers each year, with great support from members of the community, who often turn up to show their support to the runners by waving banners and distributing posters, some which have been specially made through print companies.
Each year, businesses such as Birchwood Shopping Centre, Asda’s Birchwood branch, and the Peacock pub in Warrington back the event and help organise each aspect of the run. Last year, over £5,000 was raised, adding to a total of £30,000 since its first year.
The run is set to take place on Sunday, 7th December at Birchwood Forest. Those interested in taking part can enter online now.
