What's Happening in Warrington, England…

Vinyl records night launched in Warrington

A brand new club night launching in Warrington will provide those who prefer their music on vinyl with the opportunity to play their favourite songs to other enthusiasts.

Called ‘Take Five’, it will be held in The Quarter, which is located on Springfield Street, and will see people turning up carrying their top five vinyl records to create a unique, personalised experience.

These five records can be from any genre or era, with dance, indie and pop all welcome, and no previous DJing or mixing experience is needed, making it accessible to all.

It is the brainchild of Sammy Dean, who lives in Grappenhall Heys, and she told the Warrington Guardian:

“I love vinyl for many reasons. The sound, even the crackle, there is just something about it.

“I used to spend all my wages in Hott Waxx records in Warrington or Eastern Bloc in Manchester.”

The idea for Take Five came to Dean, who works as a florist, when she played at similar evenings held in London, and she will be able to use print shops in Warrington to secure flyers to help promote the nights.

She stated that she felt it would be a great way for music lovers to share their favourite tunes and for collectors to showcase the rarest albums and singles they own.

The first Take Five will be held this Friday, August 28.
