What's Happening in Warrington, England…

Preparations for Warrington Business Awards continue

The Warrington Business Awards (WBA) event is getting closer and the public have been invited to vote in relation to one of the categories.

Five enterprises have been put on the shortlist for Retailer of the Year. This WBA category has been promoted by the Warrington Guardian. As a result, readers of the newspaper have a chance to vote for their favourite store in the area. At the awards ceremony, businesses could use promotional pens or other promotional products from Warrington for networking purposes. Andrew Aldridge, an organiser of the event, told the Warrington Guardian:

“The quality of entries received this year was phenomenal and this was particularly the case with Retailer of the Year. We believe the five finalists represent great businesses, with real commitment to serving customers whilst also growing successful businesses.”

The five nominated retailers are Black Sheep Wools (BTW), Edith & Winston Bridalwear (EWB), Disability Trading Company (DTC), Stockton Heath Travel (SHT) and Johnsons Hairdressers.

Of the nominees in the category, only the DTC is located within the boundaries of Warrington itself. However, although EWB is based in Knutsford it has a Warrington connection, while the first salon of Johnsons was situated in Warrington 70 years ago.

The WBA will be hosted in Lymm Rugby Football Club. The winners in the different categories will receive their prizes on the 10th of June.
