What's Happening in Warrington, England…

Pop-up restaurant set to open in Warrington

Foodies living in Warrington will find a new choice on the menu from the end of the month, with the news that the town is set to get its very first pop-up restaurant.

The plans will see Pyramid, a venue more commonly used as an arts and entertainment venue, become an eating establishment on one day each month, with this periodic pop-up restaurant being given the name 'My Little Kitchen (MyLK)'.

It will be a supper club, with the two head chefs – Kyle Tyrrell and James Thatcher – providing three-course dinners to between forty and fifty visitors each time.

The menu will be changed every month, allowing the chefs to concoct meals based around regional food fashions and the seasons of the year. Tyrrell and Thatcher were inspired by the success of several pop-up restaurants in London.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, Thatcher said it would offer local people something completely new:
“If you go to a restaurant you’ve usually got a set menu and it’s the same all the time... It can get boring but this way it’s a different menu each time. We start with what’s in season and what goes together and take it from there.”

Once MyLK launches, Thatcher and Tyrrell will be able to use printing companies in Warrington to supply everything from menus to promotional flyers.

Thatcher also stated that they hope to attract new talent and big names to prepare meals there in the future.
