What's Happening in Warrington, England…

New boss for Warrington business centre

Sylvie Morton has recently been selected as a business development executive for The Base in Warrington.

Morton has worked for an investment agency for Manchester in the past, and having this experience with inward investment at MIDAS should help her to develop tech companies within office space in Warrington. Her appointment could mean that more enterprises grow and this might have implications for the demand for business cards from local business card printing.

She will aim to assist organisations with their networking, as she explained to the Warrington Guardian:

“Our customers’ success is what will drive our own, so it makes sense to focus on helping them access new markets and make useful contacts that can help them grow their companies.”

Morton has aspirations in other areas; she backs open-source innovation, technology transfer, and corporate venturing. The Base is classed as grade ‘A’ office space and it is 50,000 square feet in area. It is within walking distance of the railway station in Warrington, which makes it readily accessible from Manchester and Liverpool.

A property director for Langtree, Jayne Furnival, has made clear that Morton will be working with start-ups. However, Furnival has stressed that sectors like engineering businesses and advanced manufacturing are particularly likely to get assistance from The Base in the future. Langtree manages the building on behalf of a local growth partnership.
