What's Happening in Warrington, England…

Cheshire growth hub backs over 150 firms

A fresh growth hub for Warrington and Cheshire has already supported in excess of 150 companies since its October launch.

The initiative has been led by the Business

Growth Strategy Board (BGSB) of the relevant Local Economic Partnership (LEP). If the hub-related organisations thrive there could be an increase in demand for business cards from Warrington. The hope is that the region could have an economy worth £50 billion in 25 years’ time. Heather Hayes, the head of the hub, told the Manchester Evening News:

“We want local businesses to be a central part of our region’s economic success story in the coming years. However, for this to happen, they need the right support.”

Ms Hayes added that various outfits might appreciate a simple way to access business support. She pointed out that advice services can appear confusing to inexperienced people. She argued that this was because sources of business advice may be seen as a complex network.

Ms Hayes revealed that the hub had helped start-ups with marketing tips. However, she also said that established enterprises had come to the hub for information about how to search for fresh markets.

A company called National Schools Training (NST) has come to the hub for assistance in the area of IT. NST started out back in 2012. It has developed by putting apprentices into schools. This Warrington-based company hopes that the apprentices and the schools can gain from their continued efforts.
