What's Happening in Warrington, England…

Changes to bus services in Warrington

A council shakeup is to involve changes to public transport systems in the Warrington area.

People in Warrington who rely on buses to get around will start to see some changes to the bus services that they use as Network Warrington, the company behind local bus services, changes timetables and routes as part of a new year overhaul. One of the main services affected is the number 48 bus which runs to Appleton.

The managing director of Network Warrington is David Squire. When asked about why the changes to the service had happened, he said:

“Our business has to be sustainable going forward in order to continue to serve the borough. We don’t make changes lightly, however looking at our passenger data we are confident that we have covered the vast majority of the links that currently exist, although times and route numbers may well be different.”

He also spoke about how the timetable changes would be communicated to local people, saying:

“We have a publicity campaign geared up for the new year with newspaper adverts, a customer road-show, new leaflets which will be widely distributed and revised website information.”

One of the most common ways to communicate public transport timetable changes is by using a local printing company to produce documents using leaflet and flyer printing. Warrington residents should look out for the publicity campaign over coming weeks to help them to stay informed about these changes. By staying informed, those who use the services will be able to avoid the inconvenience normally caused by such changes.
