American house music legend to play at Warrington all-dayer
House music fans in Warrington are set for a treat when American DJ Spen headlines a bank holiday all-dayer next month.
The esteemed DJ and producer - whose discography stretches all the way back to the 1980s - will visit Cheshire as part of his UK tour. He will play at the Sankey Street Basement aftershow, which follows the day party at Hideout Warrington.
DJ Spen will be supported by local DJs on the line-up including Barry May, Mike Woods, Richard Francis, Alan Hartley and Thestrangeone. The Washington Post said of DJ Spen:
While house music is now seen as a genre more popular in Europe, it can trace its roots back to the stateside stomping ground of Spen, having gained popularity in the 1980s in cities such as Chicago, Detroit and New York.
Sankey Street Basement is an underground bar and nightclub with acoustics and an atmosphere that many clubbers would consider ideal for Spen’s pumping house beats. Warrington partygoers can expect to see poster printing in town ahead of the event.
DJ Spen headlines the bank holiday all-dayer in Warrington on Saturday, 4th May from 2pm until 3am. Tickets start at £16 plus booking fee.

“In his 40 years as a DJ, Sean “DJ Spen” Spencer has seen it all. He’s spent decades producing and remixing dance records, running labels, and DJing around the world and for various Baltimore radio stations, watching as dance music’s popularity waxed and waned.”
