A production of a much-loved Christmas story will be presented in Tamworth this December, in honour of the festive season.
Tamworth Castle’s grounds have been selected as the site of an upcoming stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Presented by the multitalented group GreenMatthews, the production will feature a songbook of Yuletide music.
Local theatre groups often distribute their branded Business Cards to prospective venues in the area to encourage bookings of the plays and productions they organise.
A Christmas Carol was originally published in 1843, during the Victorian era. It is credited for reinventing and rejuvenating the Christmas holiday in Britain, and has been a mainstay of the season for many for each generation that came after.
The GreenMatthews production includes a blend of traditional folk songs, with new lyrics and classic Victorian carols to set the scene for the Dickens favourite on stage. Split into two parts, the first act is a musical one, with the second half retelling the well-known story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as he experiences ghostly hauntings on Christmas Eve.
The production of A Christmas Carol will take place on Saturday November 12 at Tamworth Castle. The castle is situated in Holloway, Tamworth, and tickets for the event are £15 each. Doors to the event will open for 7pm, and the show will begin at 7.30pm.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
