Grocery giant Aldi has confirmed that it will be opening another of its discount supermarkets in Tamworth this year. Chief Executive for Aldi, Giles Hurley, commented:
“We have been investing in Britain for more than 30 years now, but we know there are still areas that either don’t have an Aldi at all, or that need another store to meet customer demand.”
At present, two Aldi supermarkets are already located in Tamworth, one on Saxon Drive and the other on Glascote Road. The proposed site for the new branch will be based at the former location of high-end department store John Lewis at the Ventura Park retail site, which closed back in 2020.
Supermarket chains like Aldi can sometimes use professional Graphic Design Services to create signage displaying upcoming offers and promotional discounts around their stores.
The Tamworth outlet will not be the only branch Aldi establishes in the county of Staffordshire in 2021, with another planned for Biddulph. The chain has also allocated an extensive remodelling of its Burton branch, which is set to take place before the end of the year.
Aldi has now submitted its application to Tamworth Borough Council for planning approval and, if successful, the store will supply 40 new job opportunities for those in the area.
