Stoke-on-Trent to get two Nandos restaurants

The successful restaurant chain Nando’s is set to launch two new outlets in Stoke-on-Trent during the next year, providing job opportunities for people living in the city.

The chain, which provides chicken-based dishes, has identified a space within the intu Potteries Centre for the first branch, which it intends to have up and running by the close of this year.

Ongoing expansion Plans for this retail centre will see Nando’s joined by other top UK eateries like Frankie and Benny’s and Pizza Express.

However Nando’s has also confirmed that it intends to start another branch within the retail park located close to Etruria Road, with the opening scheduled for some point during 2016.

At the moment, the city does not have a Nando’s, but alongside providing jobs, the two restaurants will also offer opportunities for businesses like printing companies in Stoke-on-Trent that can produce Menus and other supplies.

A Nando’s spokesman told StaffsLive:

“We’re really looking forward to opening not one, but two restaurants in Stoke-on-Trent. It’s a town that’s been on our radar for some time.”

Etruria Road, where the second branch of Nando’s will be situated, has been earmarked as the site for a major redevelopment project that could see a pub and three more restaurants built there.

If it goes ahead, this project would provide jobs for over 100 residents of the city, as well as regenerating the surrounding area.
