Stoke-on-Trent to celebrate sibling songsmiths

A venue in Stoke-on-Trent is set to present a live show dedicated to a famous musical duo who were sister and brother.

Fans of timeless music from Stoke-on-Trent will soon get a chance to take a musical journey through the astonishing career of hit pop group The Carpenters at the Victoria Hall. Venues putting on productions and concerts often use poster printing services to create advertisements in a range of sizes that they can display in and around their premises.

This warmly received production is titled “The Carpenters Story” and is a tribute to the lives and music of the world-renowned brother and sister team who sold more than 100 million singles and albums. The show faithfully recreates the contralto voice of Karen Carpenter via the gifted vocals of singer Claire Furley. Phil Aldridge, musical director for the production, provides strong support as he leads The Carpenters Story band as they play original orchestral arrangements created by Richard Carpenter.

Those attending the upcoming production in Stoke-on-Trent will be able to hear a lengthy list of classic Carpenters tracks including but not limited to “Close To You”, “Rainy Days & Mondays”, “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “I Need to Be in Love” and “Top of the World”.

The Carpenters Story will take to the stage at Victoria Hall on Saturday, September 9. The venue is based on Bagnall Street in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. The show will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
