A sci-fi show that is taking place in Stoke on Trent later this month has attracted stars from the fantasy and science fiction industry.
The event, known as Stoke Con Trent, will be taking place at the city’s Staffordshire University campus and has been promoted both online and through poster printing campaigns.
The convention was organised by Trending PR and 6 Towns Radio. The event sponsors are inviting attendees to dress up as their favourite film, television, game and comic book characters, and will be presenting fans with the opportunity to meet the event’s star guests for photo and comic signings.
Famous names that have been lined up for the conference include Red Dwarf and Coronation Street actor Craig Charles. He is among 35 guests to appear at the event, and will be joined by former Doctor Who Colin Baker, as well as James Cosmo from hit TV series Game of Thrones.
Those who are attending the event are encouraged to dress up, with three separate cosplay competitions taking place for three age categories – the under-7s, the 8-15s, and 16+. A spokesman for the event has said that the competition – which is taking place on Sunday, 28th September – will be judged by ‘a very special guest’. The winners will be walking away with a host of unique prizes.
