Intercity Taxis, a cab firm based in Hanley in Stoke-on-Trent has now been purchased by global investment enterprise, MBH Corporation plc with a price tag estimated to be between £3m and £4m.
With over 40 years of operating around Staffordshire, Intercity is among the most used cab firms around Stoke-on-Trent and is a favourite of visitors and clubbers around the city, along with a mainstay for school run services provided by the local authorities, with its largest account being Staffordshire County Council.
The company currently has over 150 drivers and an extensive fleet consisting of 120 cabs. Taxi and private hire drivers sometimes keep a stock of Business Cards to hand out to passengers they can keep and call cabs whenever required. These are often placed on the dashboard for customers to help themselves to.
CEO for MBH, Callum Laing commented on the deal:
"Intercity Taxis is one of the very best in their field, being innovative, forward facing and proactive and we are excited to have them as part of our growing portfolio as we add more to our transportation vertical."
As part of the purchase, Intercity Taxis will now become a part of the corporation’s transport division under the Take Me brand, which was formerly known as ADT Taxis.
