The bust of the player is now in the possession of the Prince’s Trust, after it was donated to the organisation by Celebrity Sculpture – the company that created it – and the charity hopes to secure funding for its various good causes by making it available to bidders.
The 7kg bust is just one of only two produced of Crouch – with the first one having been given to his spouse, Abbey Clancy, during the television programme James Corden’s World Cup Live. It is valued at £280, but the Prince’s Trust will be hoping to raise even more than this, especially as Crouch has signed it, with charities often relying on promotional flyer printing from Print companies in Stoke on Trent and other places to spark interest in fundraising efforts.
The Prince’s Trust Burslem and Middleport co-ordinator, Alan Christian, said:
“I have worked with Mike Blundell, from Celebrity Sculpture, on various other projects and as a thank you to me he gave me the bust because he knows I’m a big Stoke City supporter.
“Instead of keeping it for myself I decided I would sell it on to try and raise some money for charity.”
