Water Plus will be a permanent tenant within a development called Two Smithfield. The chief executive for Water Plus, Sue Amies-King, said:

The development of Smithfield was built two years back. Water Plus is poised to occupy half the floors in the structure. The move has the potential to stimulate the local economy, and could also help in efforts to promote Stoke-on-Trent as a business location.
Dave Conway, the leader of the city council, said that the extra workers inside the centre of the city would have a positive economic impact. He took the opportunity presented by the corporate decision to highlight the qualities of the place from a business perspective. In particular, he mentioned land availability, workforce talent and infrastructure.
Property agents are still engaged in the marketing of the remainder of the space in the Smithfield building. It has been reported that there has been interest shown by a range of companies.
