The city could have fared better, however, as it still ranked towards the bottom of the list. Sheffield ranked 18 out of 23, finishing above Edinburgh, Liverpool, Southampton, Glasgow, and Leeds. Brighton ranked first in the UK-wide survey that was designed to find out just how satisfied people are.
Kerry Collinge, the Marketing Director for 9NINE Super Seed brand, was responsible for commissioning the study. She said:
“Brighton residents have found themselves topping our happiest city chart. Maybe it’s the sea air and sunny weather that keeps them smiling!”
At the bottom of the list, only 16% of residents in Edinburgh described themselves as 'happy', instead opting for such words as 'depressed' and 'anxious'.
The research surveyed 3,000 UK residents, asking them to talk about how satisfied they are with life in general, as well as how they feel about themselves, assigning a score between 1 and 10.
Sheffield can be 'happy' about ranking above Leeds but it would likely prefer to see itself higher on the list.
Businesses within the city could employ positive marketing strategies to appeal to residents and the wider community through the production of Brochures and Catalogues that detail the best things about the Yorkshire city.Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Catalogues
