Sheffield’s MIN got almost £1,100 from Investec Wealth and Investment. The resources were channelled through the South Yorkshire Community Foundation. Print shops in Sheffield can be useful for the promotion of the third sector.
MIN provides important support to parents who have experienced abuse. Its centre delivers a place of safety. It offers advice and facilities to vulnerable mothers and their families. Laura Atkins delivers financial advice on behalf of Investec Wealth and Investment. Atkins has visited the centre and she told The Star:
“After spending time with the women at MIN and listening to the work they have done and the help they are providing, we are thrilled to support such an important charity.”
MIN is aiming to raise more funds by putting on an event at the Copthorne Hotel. A fashion show for women could attract donations to make counselling available to those who need it.
Investec Wealth and Investment has made 29 grants to charitable organisations since 2000. The South Yorkshire Community Foundation facilitated all this support for communities.
The Office for National Statistics collates data in relation to the prevalence of domestic abuse. The serious social problem affects some men as well as women. Official figures show that over a million women suffered from abuse in the year which began in April 2016.Get a Free Quote for Print
