A special outdoor cinema experience in Sheffield is set to transport attendees back to the 1950s.
A one-off screening of the famous musical Grease will be presented at the Owlerton Stadium in Sheffield. The special showing has been designed for audiences to sing along with well-known songs from the movie including ‘You’re the One That I Want’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, ‘Sandy’ and ‘Greased Lightnin’.
Guests can join in with the hits sung by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John beneath the stars and are invited to bring blankets and camping chairs along for comfort. Promoters of summer events hosted outside can sometimes use poster printing services to create colourful advertisements of upcoming attractions to call in the crowds.
Picnics are welcome at the event although alcoholic beverages must be purchased at the onsite bar. There will also be a selection of snacks and hot food to buy at the venue on the night. The classic film set in 50s USA is rated PG, but those attending under 16 must have an adult accompanying them.
The sing along Grease show will take place on Thursday, August 20. Gates will open at 7.30pm and the film will begin at around 8.30pm with an approximate running time of just under two hours. Tickets are priced from £14.50 to £20.50.
