Sheffield is set to welcome back an English rock group renowned for their psychedelic sounds next year.
After an extended absence from the music scene, UK psychedelic rock band Kula Shaker released a new album this summer entitled ‘1st Congregational Church of Eternal Love and Free Hugs’. In celebration of what is the band’s sixth studio recording, the English four-piece are undertaking a national tour which will feature a single-night show in Sheffield this coming January.

Led by singer and guitarist Crispian Mills, the rock group rose to prominence in the post-Britpop period towards the end of the 90s. Between ‘96 and ’99 the group encountered major commercial success in Britain with multiple char hits including "Sound of Drums", "Tattva", "Govinda", "Hey Dude", and their high-energy rendition of the Deep Purple classic "Hush".
Kula Shaker’s debut entitled “K” achieved number one status in the British album chart and was heavily influenced by traditional Indian culture, music and mysticism, with many of the songs featuring lyrics penned in Sanskrit.
