Popular comedian headed for Sheffield

An esteemed venue in Sheffield is set to welcome an influential comic to its stage, known for his energetic stand-up and writing for stage and screen.

UK comedy icon Ben Elton will be appearing on the stage at Sheffield City Hall this September, with his brand new show entitled “Authentic Stupidity”. This is following his massive success with a sold-out tour of the UK back in 2019.

That year saw Elton make a welcome return to performing live comedy after a 15-year break. His new show challenges people’s fear of Artificial Intelligence being a threat to humanity, and states that the real problem is Authentic Stupidity, or AS for short.

City venues presenting stand-up comics often look to specialist Print shops for a diverse range of promotional materials like signage, Posters and Flyers.

Elton was the BBCs youngest scriptwriter when he started working professionally in 1980, but he rose to fame on Channel 4 leading Saturday Live. The show featured many hit comedians of the era including Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson, and Elton performed as compere and final act for each show.

The comedian is also known for writing TV classics like Blackadder and The Young Ones.

Ben Elton’s will now be performing his Authentic Stupidity show live at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday, September 10.
