A well-known venue in the heart of Sheffield will welcome an acclaimed English artist who spearheaded Britain’s Mod revival in the ‘70s and ‘80s this spring.
UK music icon Paul Weller will be performing live in Sheffield this coming April. The influential artist has enjoyed success in bands but also as a solo artist, and will be playing a set list packed with tracks from his extensive musical career on stage at Sheffield City Hall in the city centre.

Weller entered the music world as frontman for Mod favourites The Jam, catapulting him into the limelight and recording history. Tracks like “That’s Entertainment”, and “Going Underground” became anthems for the youth of ‘70s and ‘80s Britain, but later inspired artists in the ‘90s.
Britpop bands like Blur and Oasis cited Weller as a major influence, earning him the nickname of “The Modfather”.
After The Jam ended, Weller formed Style Council, a neo-soul group with R&B overtones that charted well with hits like “Walls Come Tumbling Down”, but in 1990, the singer-songwriter went solo. Songs like “Wild Wood” and “The Changingman” saw him recognised by fans and critics as one of Britain’s best songsmiths.
