Based on the renowned BBC2 radio show, “Sounds of the ‘60s Live” is a musical extravaganza hosted by celebrated disc jockey Tony Blackburn. The DJ has been hosting the original show himself on air since 2017 after taking over from Brian Mathew.
Blackburn commented:
“I’m absolutely thrilled that the Sounds of the ‘60s live tour has proved so popular and that we’re in a position to extend the run… it’s proof that the music of the ‘60s is as loved now as it was back then!”
After substantial success with its UK tour in 2019, the show was planned to return in 2020 for another run. Unfortunately, the international outbreak of coronavirus meant the tour could not take place, but thanks to rescheduling it will now be held next year instead.
The single date show in Sheffield will features stories, songs and live music performed by the Sounds of the ‘60s All Star Band & Singers. City venues can sometimes use poster printing services to advertise upcoming attractions like these.
Sounds of the ‘60s Live will now take place at the Oval Hall, in Sheffield City Hall on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 7:30pm. Tickets for the cancelled show in April 2020 will be valid for the rescheduled event.
