Sheffield is set to extend a warm welcome to a celebrated Irish singer songwriter.
Irish folk vocalist Cara Dillon will be playing in concert at Sheffield University this summer. From plush Posters for concerts, to Brochures and prospectuses outlining learning opportunities, universities often enlist the aid of professional printing services to create advertising materials and offer information.
Born in Dungiven, Ireland in 1975, Dillon has been performing since she was just 14 years old bringing her vocals to audiences at home and overseas. Along with playing in the UK and Ireland, she has toured Europe and the Middle East extensively as part of multiple Irish folk bands like Oige and Equation.
In 2001, the singer-songwriter released her first solo album. Self-titled, the recording was released through UK label Rough Trade Records. Over the years, Dillon has collaborated with several renowned musicians including Mike Oldfield and Phil Coulter. Additionally, she has received critical acclaim from UK music magazines and two different BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards; the first was the Horizon Award for Best Newcomer and the other was for the Best Traditional Track.
Dillon created her own record label, Charcoal Records, to release ‘Hill of Thieves’, her fourth album, in 2009.
Cara Dillon will be on stage at the University of Sheffield’s Firth Hall on Sunday, July 3. The show will start at 7:30 pm.
