Celebrated songsmith bound for Sheffield

An acclaimed UK singer-songwriter is set to play Sheffield in the coming months.

Legendary UK artist Paul Weller will be in the city as part of his national tour this year. With a long musical history, Weller began playing in mod-punk revival band The Jam and ‘80s soul group Style Council before going solo in 1992.

Sometimes referred to as “The Modfather”, Weller’s music proved inspirational for the UK’s ‘90s Britpop scene with popular bands like Oasis and Blur citing him as a musical influence. Deeply rooted in the UK, the singer-songwriter’s personal and often political music has enjoyed great national success, with both albums, songs and live performances obtaining critical acclaim. His latest album, “Fat Pop (Volume 1)”, was released earlier this year.

Live music venues can sometimes use flyer printing services to spread word of concerts and shows to members of the public to attract a solid attendance.

Weller fans attending the Sheffield show will have a chance to see the singer give live performances of tracks from his solo career such as “You Do Something to Me”, “The Changingman” and “Wild Wood”, and possibly also hits from his days with The Jam like “A Town Called Malice”, “Going Underground” and “That’s Entertainment”.

Paul Weller will play Performance Venues: The Octagon Centre on Clarkson Street in Sheffield on Saturday, November 9 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
