Residents of Wood Hill Lodge are now enjoying pub snacks and pints while enjoying views over the South Yorkshire city.
The new onsite venue was created by staff members at the care facility, who have transformed an area that was previously used for seating during the day into the bar and café. Cocktails, pints and glasses of wine are all being served.
Care homes and enterprises in the hospitality industry opening new features for guests can use brochure printing services to create colourful leaflets advertising the additional amenities available to prospective residents and customers.
Long-term resident of Wood Hill Lodge, 86-year-old Terrance Farrell, commented on the new bar to The Star:
“I love to sit in my comfy chair relaxing looking out at the views over Sheffield. Sometimes I am so relaxed I could nod off. It’s the perfect place to sit and have a pint.”
Manager for Wood Hill Lodge, Nicola Ibbotson, said the bar was created for those missing a trip to the pub amidst the recent pandemic, and she commented how enjoyable it had been to see the residents appreciating socialising over a pint. Purpose-built, the care home was designed for those with dementia and provides nursing and residential services.
