A civic hub in Sheffield will welcome a Britpop band from Birmingham this spring.
The Oval Hall in Sheffield City Hall will soon ring out with the songs of Ocean Colour Scene. Fans of the Britpop band’s bluesy brand of rock can see them take to the stage at the venue for an evening concert in April.

Ocean Colour Scene rose to fame during the Britpop era after Noel Gallagher heard their demo Tape and enlisted them to support Oasis on tour. With three top five albums to their credit, the band’s career has extended for decades, offering plenty of fodder to fuel their setlists.
Sheffield residents and visitors at the gig will be treated to a night of music featuring a host of tracks that may include “The Riverboat Song”, “Profit in Peace”, “Huckleberry Grove” and “Get Blown Away”, among others.
Last year in June, Ocean Colour Scene released an anthology album called “It’s A Beautiful Thing”, featuring many of their best-loved numbers. The Birmingham band currently consists of Raymond Meade, Steve Cradock, Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison.
