Veteran comedian coming to King's Lynn

'An Evening With Jimmy Tarbuck' is the Liverpudlian comic's latest show and is due to arrive in King's Lynn at the beginning of August.

This household name has been in the top rank of the business now for more than 60 years. His initial steps were as a Butlin's Redcoat, and then appearing on ITV's 'Comedy Bandbox' in 1962. It was on the channel's 'Saturday Night at The London Palladium' that he rose to stardom, going on to become host.

In the 1970s and 1980s, he presented several TV variety and quiz shows including, ITV's, 'Winner Takes It All (1975-1986) and 'Live From Her Majesty's (1983-1985). The 1990s saw him offered an ITV chat formate 'Tarbuck Late' (1994-1995).

Jimmy will recall his career, delivering stories, video snipets, jokes and anecdotes. Tales about his childhood on the banks of the Mersey, being a classmate of John Lennon's and acting as Bing Crosby's golf partner, as well as his time spent on stage at the Palladium.

Audience participation is welcome. It is divided into two parts, with a Q&A session.
