Transport arrangements give Kings Lynn a boost

A range of transport improvements could benefit people living within the area of King’s Lynn.

Quentin Brogdale, an engineer who works for the county council, has recently made a presentation to the relevant committee for development and regeneration. He outlined how a change will be made to so that a junction near a local hospital can become safer than it has been.

Further, Mr Brogdale said in effect that efforts could be made to join up public transport in the district. When alterations are made to transport services, new leaflets can be sourced from local leaflet printers.

Elizabeth Watson, a member of West Norfolk Council, pointed out that a lack of planning had resulted in serious inconvenience for residents heading to London or Cambridge. Brogdale replied that the issue would be looked at. In comments reported in the Lynn News, the engineer admitted:

“Coasthopper is a bit disappointing given we’ve spent a lot of money on the transport interchange to link things together.”

The situation might change within the next few weeks, because bus operator Lynx has announced Plans to shake things up. The Coasthopper service has been operated by Stagecoach, but Lynx wants to put on a rival service that will fit in efficiently with the timetable of relevant trains. The idea is that the Lynx buses will go from King’s Lynn to Heacham and Hunstanton with a direct service.
