The climax of event – held at Tuesday Market Place on Friday, 11th and Saturday, 12th July – drew the crowds in to be entertained by headline acts Scouting for Girls and Toploader. As well as these headliners, other musical talents to hit the stage included The Hoosiers, who returned to the event following a performance in 2011, and 2013 X-Factor semi-finalists Rough Copy, who delivered an energetic and flamboyant set.
Local people seemed to enjoy the event, following a good promotional campaign which saw the use of flyer printing to encourage people to come down. As well as host of famous faces, students from the King’s Lynn Academy also took to the stage.
The chairman of the festival, Derek Harvey, declared the event a success, saying that it was a ‘fantastic’ weekend. He continued to add:
“The last two festivals are the best we have for many years. A lot of people will agree with that. This year’s musical line-up was best ever.”
Harvey is stepping down as chairman of the event and will be passing the baton over to Bridget Nurse. Further, he conveyed his gratitude to the event organisers for their hard work making it a festival to be proud of.
